Copyright Notice + Takedown Procedure

Operator identified + dangling repository reference closed (site-copy audit Part E; operator ruling 2026-09-12). New §0 and §8 name Robert Karsten Zaar, an individual of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, in place of the unidentified 'the Operator' / 'c/- Melbourne' service block. §1 no longer ends in a dangling 'Repositories on git.nwpcode.org mirroring the above': the two bullets it referred to were '~/nwp/' and '~/nwptoolkit/' internal filesystem paths, which LegalDocRenderer::cleanMarkdown STRIPS, so the published page said 'the above' about nothing. It now names the projects in words and states the governing rule (each repository carries its own LICENSE and NOTICE at its root, published on git.nwpcode.org). BLOCKED, deliberately NOT invented: the explicit list of repository names and their public visibility. Only nwp/nwc is verifiable here (the git remote); nwp/nwp appears in docs only, nwptoolkit has no repository path anywhere in this tree, and nothing in the tree records which projects are public. Operator ruling 2026-09-12, 'you only use that which is verifiable': §1 now lists the ONE repository that is verifiable from this worktree, nwp/nwc (the git remote), and says further repositories are listed as they are opened to the public. nwp/nwp is still NOT listed — it appears in docs prose only — and the toolkit is still not named, because its repository path is nowhere in this tree. A short true list beats a plausible long one. Also: §2 and §3 call the agreement the Contribution Agreement, the name every other surface uses, and link it, replacing 'Beta Community CC0 Agreement' plus three retired hostnames; §2's 'AI-assistance disclosure' became 'AI-assisted-authorship terms', matching NOTICE §4, since the AI-disclosure DUTY was removed at aup v2 / cc0 v2; §9 says where the version number is and new §10 carries it (the **Version:** header is stripped from every published copy). Forces re-acceptance. v1: operator-drafted initial copyright notice + DMCA-style takedown contact. CONTACT ADDRESS FILLED IN: privacy@nwpcode.org is now published in the BODY of this document (the **Contact:** header is stripped by LegalDocRenderer::cleanMarkdown, so a header-only address reaches no reader). Not a new disclosure and not invented: the address is already provisioned and baseline-tracked per the privacy block's note above, already published in privacy.md since v2, and already shown on the live /contact page. Folded into this version rather than bumped again, because no version on this branch has been synced anywhere yet — one shipped version, one re-acceptance.

0. Who this notice comes from

This notice is given by **Robert Karsten Zaar**, an individual, of

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (the "Operator"), who operates

**Narrow Way Commons**, the community, and **Saint School**, the

courses. The Operator is not an incorporated body and does not act on

behalf of Apostoli Viae or any other organisation, and can be reached

at privacy@nwpcode.org or through our contact form at /contact.

1. Code

The infrastructure code that powers these sites, and the open-source

companion projects — the Narrow Way Project (Drupal hosting and

deployment) and its transcription and indexed-search toolkit — are

dedicated to the public domain under **CC0 1.0 Universal** with an MIT

Licence fallback.

Each repository carries its own `LICENSE` and `NOTICE` file at its

root, and those files govern that repository. The repositories are

published on the Operator's own GitLab at `git.nwpcode.org`.

The repository behind this site is `nwp/nwc`. Further repositories are

listed here as they are opened to the public.

2. Site content

Content authored by the Operator, or by contributors under the

[Contribution Agreement](/legal/contribution-agreement), is dedicated

to the public domain under CC0 1.0 Universal with an MIT Licence

fallback, on the moral-rights consent and AI-assisted-authorship terms

recorded in each repository's `NOTICE` file.

Content drawn from third-party sources retains its upstream

copyright. The site marks third-party content with attribution and

source links. Where short attributed quotations from publicly

available material are used, that use is made under the fair-dealing

provisions of the *Copyright Act 1968* (Cth), specifically ss 40

(research or study) and 41 (criticism or review), and the equivalent

provisions of US and EU copyright law where applicable.

3. The Contribution Agreement

A separate [Contribution Agreement](/legal/contribution-agreement)

governs admission to the Narrow Way Commons review queue and to the

gated demo and test copies of Narrow Way Commons and Saint School.

Members admitted under that agreement contribute under the same dual

`CC0-1.0 OR MIT` licence as the project's infrastructure.

4. Takedown notices — for copyright owners

If you are a copyright owner (or authorised agent) and you believe

content on this site infringes your copyright, please send a written

notice to privacy@nwpcode.org, or through our contact form at

/contact, containing:

1. Your name, address, and contact information

2. A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been

infringed

3. The exact URL(s) of the material on this site

4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is

not authorised by you, your agent, or the law

5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in

the notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act on

behalf of the copyright owner

6. Your physical or electronic signature

On receipt, the Operator will:

  • Acknowledge the notice within 5 business days
  • Investigate and remove or restrict the disputed material if the

notice is substantiated

Notify the affected contributor (where applicable) and offer them

the chance to file a counter-notice

5. Counter-notice — for contributors whose content was taken down

If your content was removed and you believe the takedown was in

error, you may submit a counter-notice to privacy@nwpcode.org, or

through our contact form at /contact, containing:

1. Your name, address, and contact information

2. Identification of the removed material and its location before

removal

3. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the material was

removed in error

4. Your physical or electronic signature

The Operator will, where appropriate, restore the material and

notify the original complainant that they may pursue legal action if

they wish.

6. Repeat infringers

The Operator may terminate the account of any user found to be a

repeat infringer.

7. Australian and international law

The takedown procedure above is offered in good faith and is loosely

modelled on US DMCA §512 procedure. The site does not assert that

the procedure is a statutory safe-harbour mechanism under either US

or Australian law. The procedure is offered as a courtesy.

The Operator complies with the *Copyright Act 1968* (Cth) and

Australian fair-dealing law.
